ICCB OK's FY 02 Budget Requests
The Illinois Community College Board today approved its operating,adult education, and capital budget requests for FY 2002. Highlights include:
  • 11.0 percent increase (or $34.7 million) in the system's operating budget

  • 37.5 percent increase (or $11.3 million) in adult education funding. This includes funding for 1/2 of the calculated shortfall in current funding, and full funding for a 10 percent growth in students served.

  • $326.2 million for 48 specific capital projects; and

  • $12 million for capital renewal grants.
The ICCB requests will now be submitted to the Illinois Board of Higher Education for incorporation into that agency's FY 02 budget recommendations. For additional information on the FY 2002 budget process, contact ICCTA at 1-800-454-2282 or ICCTA@communitycolleges.org.
