The ICCTA Board of Representatives took the following actions at its June 16, 2001, meeting at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois:

• Elected the following trustees to one-year terms as ICCTA officers for 2001-2002:
       -- President-elect Jack Daley (Moraine Valley Community College)
       -- Secretary Jake Rendleman (John A. Logan College)
       -- Treasurer Patti Wojcikowski (South Suburban College)
  Richard Anderson (College of Lake County) will assume the ICCTA presidency on July 1, succeeding Linden Warfel (Parkland College);
  
  
• Reviewed the association’s accomplishments during 2000-2001, including new funding for foundation matching grants and the passage of legislation reducing the amount of community college treasurers’ bonds;
  
  
• Presented awards to ICCTA’s officers, regional chairs, committee chairs, and organizational liaisons for 2000-2001. Also recognized were recipients of this year’s Trustee Education Award, as well as Dave Maguire (Spoon River College), recipient of the 2001 Ray Hartstein Trustee Achievement Award;
  
  
• Received a legislative report from ICCB president/CEO Dr. Joseph Cipfl on the spring 2001 legislation session. He noted that this year’s $9 million increase in adult education funding is the largest ever. Community colleges also received a commitment for $250 million in capital funding over five years. Temporary facilities will be given priority in determining the allocation of this capital money; ICCB will soon be accepting application for project funding;
  
  
• Learned that the Illinois Presidents Council has elected its officers for 2001-2002:
       -- Chair Dr. Gretchen Naff (College of Lake County)
       -- Vice chair Dr. Michael Murphy (College of DuPage)
       -- Secretary/treasurer Dr. Terry Ludwig (Shawnee Community College); and
  
  
• Were informed that Dave Maguire is running for the board of the Association of Community College Trustees at its October annual conference in San Diego.
